INTER-HOUSE HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION CONDUCTED FOR THE FOUNDATION STUDENTS “If you just communicate, you can get by. But if you communicate skillfully, you can work miracles”. On July 21 and 23, 2022, Doon Defence Academy held the Inter-house Hindi Debate Competition. Two separate subjects were offered to the students to express their thoughts in favour and against these topics. The discussion was held on January 21st, and the topic was “Only one Earth.” The debate on the 23rd was focused on the issue of “Political intervention affecting the Education system.” The purpose of holding the Hindi Debate was to instil in the students a love of their own tongue and culture as well as to make them aware of the importance of their own language. The Debate went on for two days and students from Pratham Pag and other schools participated in a debate about how political interference affects education. The contenders fought a tough battle to win.. The last round of the Debate took place on Saturday. The director, Mr. Sandeep Gupta, presided over the event’s opening ceremony and honoured the students by awarding them prizes. Mr. Sandeep Gupta addressed the students, informing them that they did not need rocket science to achieve their life’s aspirations and goals. The students themselves must work hard to achieve their ultimate goal, he continued, and Team DDA will provide all academic support to guide them in the right direction. . Additionally, he warned the foundation course students against acting unethically by reminding them that the DDA staff is aware of everything the students do and that they should not assume that if they do something improper, no one from the staff will find out about it. He also cautioned the students against doing anything that might force the DDA authorities to punish offenders harshly. Team DDA will do everything possible to help the students become responsible citizens. The sooner students realise that they must work for their appointment as cadets in armed forces after attending DDA, the sooner they will be successful. Other than the events hosted at DDA, there are several significant competitive examinations. Although thousands of students enter these competitions, very few of them are qualified in these competitive examinations. He continued by inquiring if the students had ever considered the qualities they possess that have helped them succeed in accomplishing their objectives. The realization that they must be disciplined to be trained to join the defence sector and that they are not joining the service as a civilian is indeed a significant factor. During his time serving as a Navy submariner, Sandeep Sir revealed his experiences. The Kargil Vijay Divas, which is celebrated annually on July 26th, takes him back in time when he was deployed as a submariner during the Kargil War of 1996, when the army was responsible for the majority of combats against the enemy forces. The air force also had a chance to participate in the Kargil War, but the Navy was regrettably denied this chance. The submarine in which Sandeep Sir was stationed had targeted Karachi, he admitted. Navy didn’t get formal orders to launch an assault. Karachi, Pakistan, would have been completely destroyed and left with no trace if the Navy had been permitted to target it. The Deputy Director of DDA, Divya Gupta, the Principal of the Foundation Course, Mr. D.N. Thapliyal, as well as other instructors and staff members, attended this occasion with the Pratham Pag students. The winners were announced to bring the event to a close. The first debate contest’s victors were Raj from JAL, who took home the top prize, and Prateek Kashyap from Vayu House, who took home the runner-up spot. In the second debate contest, Ayush Sharma from THAL took home the top prize, and Aditya Gautam from Vayu House took home the runner-up spot. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the contenders and the audience.
