ORIENTATION BY MR UMESH KUNIYAL The first Batch for the DDA diamonds commenced on 3rd April 2023 and the commencement of the first batch began with the orientation by the Academic Counselor Mr. Umesh Kuniyal. New Students joined DDA for four months, six months, and a one-year course study program encapsulated with all facilities including classes, books, study material, uniforms, library, and computer laboratory facility as well for the academic year 2023-24. The students greeted Mr. Umesh Kuniyal. The academic counselor that the students will have to undergo academic classes for various subjects to crack the defence competitive exam so as to fulfill their dream goal of becoming coveted officers in the armed forces. He told the students that he would share some relevant tips. The faculty and staff members have been trained to prepare you for all the attributes required by the defense officer. The first important factor is discipline. If you are disciplined then no one could stop them from becoming a defense officer. How are the students going to be disciplined by positive thinking, your attitude towards their career, their haircut, their uniform, and their attitude towards doing everything on time? Be positive, energetic, and happy, and show enthusiasm towards the task assigned. It is of prime importance to make a plan of self-study and how you are going to passionately chase your dreams to fulfill them by working hard and utilizing every second. Go as per your proper time schedule of the day. Always carry a diary so that you keep on adding any relevant instruction given to you. Be agile and curious to add to the knowledge you already possess and your alacrity will help you as if you are alert enough to put up the right question at the right time from different subject experts during the class, you are bound to succeed if you keep revising everything you have gained. The initiative needs to be taken by the candidate. Proper participation in both academic and physical activities are the key factor deciding your success in achieving your goal. You will have to participate in physical training like pushups, sit and also trekking and marathon or races to different destinations to check on your stamina. In the obstacle ground or GTO ground, you have to show your caliber and that will prepare you for your SSB interview round. You will also have to attend various personality development courses because after your selection in the written exam of NDA, you will appear for the five-day SSB training and it is at that time, your personality is evaluated when you are made to do challenging tasks requiring raw courage, boldness, and confidence. You should have excellent communication skills to meet all challenges. You can survive in any given situation in Defence if your communication skills are good enough. As you are living in a community of your own age group, use this company to improve your skills in English. By practice, you can easily learn anything. You should use your Android phone for learning purposes and see the synonyms, antonyms, phrases, tenses, etc. Watch all the study-related videos composed by DDA staff for your academic growth and learning. Be disciplined in the classroom and when the faculty will be teaching you and have a presence of mind, be passionate about your dream goals. If you have passion, no one can stop you from achieving your goals. Your parents anticipate a lot from you so be curious and inquisitive to learn and you have a ready platform to inculcate in you all the attributes that are the attributes of an officer in the armed forces. The candidate who is determined to follow what is being told, that candidate is bound to succeed. He recapitulated and summarized all the points he had stated. A proper plan of study is the best way to follow. You have to face the screening committee with a smiling face and this attitude is possible if you have confidence. The faculty and staff members are there with you at every step of your preparation to help you get what you want and so just remain focused and don’t deviate from your target of being the most exquisite and most dynamic candidate ready for all future undertakings, challenges and goals.
