DDA Conducted an Anti-Drug Workshop for the Students about the Disadvantages of Drug Addiction.
ANTI-DRUG WORKSHOP CONDUCTED AT DDA ‘SAY NO TO DRUGS-EMBRACE LIFE AND NOT DEATH An Anti-drug workshop was conducted at Doon Defence Academy with the objective of creating awareness among the students regarding the bad impact of taking drugs and the precautions that need to be taken so that the students don’t fall prey to drug addiction. The main objective of the workshop was to make the students aware of the importance of living a disciplined life and having the courage and strength to resist temptations. The workshop was anchored by Inspector Rakesh who discoursed in front of the students to tell them about the health hazards which might interrupt the medical fitness eligibility of the students and stop them from getting recruited into the armed forces. He told the students about the various pernicious drugs that are injurious to the health of the students like Charus, gaanga, and opium. The best way to live a good life is to avoid bad company and not to become a victim of the drug-sellers. It is pertinent and imperative to avoid any such condiment which provides momentary pleasure but harms the physical and mental ability of any person and stops him from becoming a valuable asset to his country. The team of inspectors expressed gratitude to the DDA director for giving them the golden opportunity of interacting with the DDA students and also for creating awareness about the ill effects of the drugs. The chemicals contained in the drugs might increase the potential of any person for some time but affect the brain and nervous system in a very harmful manner slowly making the person get addicted to these drugs. These drugs only give the person an artificial excitement for some time taking the person to a dreamy sensation of pleasure and joy. The inspector goes on to share the fact that the first time the drugs are introduced to a person is by a very close friend and it is due to the peer pressure that a person starts getting habitual to the drugs. Later you will feel sick and you won’t be able to enjoy life as you will not be able to live a normal life. No medication can cure you of drug addiction and the only way to get rid of the drugs is through your willpower. It might take 15 to 20 years to recuperate from the bad health conditions generated by drug addictions. It is important to take decisions that are beneficial for your life. It is not good to imitate others who are drug addicts as you never know where it might take you in the race of being like your peers. He encourages the candidates to make goals and achieve them and never get disheartened by small failures and feel encouraged and motivated to become defense officers, cadets, and personnel and this can become possible only by living a disciplined life and instilling in ourselves good habits. Any habit that is an impediment in the way of your success should be stopped immediately. It is not just one life that gets affected by drug addiction but the whole family gets ruined due to the drug addiction of the youngsters who shatter the hopes and aspirations of their family through a sedentary lifestyle.
