Cleanliness Campaign By Doon Defence Academy Students In Collaboration With Dehradun Nagar Nigam

CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN BY DOON DEFENCE ACADEMY STUDENTS IN COLLABORATION WITH NAGAR NIGAM Dehradun: On the occasion of World Youth Day observed on the 12th of January 2023, more than 100 Doon Defence Academy students volunteered in the Cleanliness Campaign with the objective of using the full potential of the youngsters of today and instilling in them the civic sense to be clean and hygienic and maintain the beauty of this magnificent and splendid Doon Valley with the idea of SWACHH AND SUNDAR DOON. The Cleanliness drive was inaugurated by Honourable Municipal Commissioner Shri.Manuj Goyal and Honourable Mayor Shri.Sunil Uniyal Gama on behalf of Dehradun Municipal Corporation. The dignitaries also joined the cleanliness drive to motivate the students and encourage them to the noble cause. It has been observed that the problem of litter and garbage is increasing day by day but the fact remains that Municipal Corporation Dehradun is trying its level best to find out various ways and means to get rid of heaps of garbage lying scattered everywhere to spoil the beauty of the blessed Dun Valley. Very soon Doon Valley will become a heaven on Earth with the lush greenery that enthralls tourists. The Cleanliness drive is being conducted with full vigor and great enthusiasm through the mutual collaboration of Municipal Corporation Dehradun, Doon Defence Academy Dehradun, Waste Warriors Association, U.N.D.P India, and the Pariwartan committee of HDFC bank. This campaign is being conducted in Gujrara Mansingh ward-59 by the students of Doon Defence Academy. As the cleanliness campaign went on with full progress, 350 kg of plastic waste was extracted and sorted during the cleanliness drive from Pacific Golf Estate to Sahastradhara Road. The waste accumulated during the cleanliness campaign was sent by Municipal Corporation Dehradun located at Harawala and Cleanliness Centre run and controlled by Waste Warriors Association for processing so that it could be recycled and reused. More than 100 students participated in the Cleanliness drive and the participants were the residents of Pacific Golf Estate and the students of Doon Defence Academy. All the volunteers who participated in the cleanliness drive did not hesitate at all in cleaning the nearby areas and they took an oath not to litter their surroundings and make sure that the areas in close vicinity to them will always remain clean.
