STUDENTS ARE BEING MISLED BY PHONEY DEFENCE INSTITUTIONS-DDA WARNS OUTSTATION STUDENTS
“ALERTNESS IS THE HIDDEN DISCIPLINE OF FAMILIARITY” AYUSHI PANDEY-A NEW ADMISSION –HER VERDICT One should never rely blindly on what others tell us in the fierce and competitive world of today. Instead, one should constantly rely on their own understanding. It is important to be aware of the events and activities going on around us. Ayushi Pandey, a student from Pant Kavi Nagar (Uttar Pradesh) Khalilabad, was questioned by Mr. Anil Rawat in a video clip. She looked up the top defence academies on Google since she wants to join the military. Following a thorough investigation, she chose to enrol in Doon Defence Academy for her training. She describes how she was able to avoid being duped by phoney schools under the guise of offering admission and faking as Doon Defence Academy. She was able to enrol in Doon Defence Academy thanks to the unwavering support of her family. The Doon Defence Academy’s opulent accommodations astounded her. She kept getting calls from different Defense Institutions asking her to visit their academy, and they also attempted to entice her by saying they would send an auto-driver to pick her up at the station and transport her to the academy. To ensure that the institution she needed to get to was Doon Defence Academy, she decided not to listen to them and took the initiative to independently confirm all the information. She didn’t choose her destination till she had verified all the information. She was able to do this because of her quick thinking and alacrity. Because of her promptness and foresight, she avoided becoming a victim of the dishonest academies that lure students to their institutions only to collect the registration and entrance money. It should be noted that these types of academies would put pressure on the students to pay the money upfront so that they get caught and then feel obligated to continue their training at the institution where they had mistakenly been admitted rather than obtaining admission in DDA. Ayushi has not fallen prey to such fake institutions but there must be other gullible students coming from villages and remote areas who are totally ignorant of the malpractices going on in towns and cities. These students are easy prey for these fake institutions and later regret their ignorance. The generation of today has to be smart and wise enough to verify details mentioned in the website and to call at the mentioned phone numbers for assistance.
