INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION AT MUSSOORIE INTERNATIONAL-APOLLO SCHOOL BAGGED THE SECOND POSITION IN THE ENGLISH DEBATE

 

 

PARTICIPATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WINNING A COMPETITION’

Students from Apollo International School took part in the Inter School debate competition that was conducted at Mussoorie International School on September 27, 2022. The debate had five teams, including the school that hosted it. St. George School, St. Judes School, Apollo International School, Oak Grove School, and Mussoorie International School were among the participating institutions.

In the first round of the English Debate, the question “Should English be taught throughout the world?” was up for discussion. The motion was discussed at Apollo School. At the conclusion of the argument, Apollo School defeated Mussoorie International with a score of 271 to 269 for the opposing team.

Should old age homes exist? was the subject of the first round of the Hindi Debate. Apollo School debated against the motion, and following a verbal duel, Apollo School prevailed with 254 points to 231 overall. Apollo School qualified for the semifinal round. Apollo School stood victorious in both the English and the Hindi debate.

The English debate’s second round topic was “Right to Die? ” and Apollo School advocated against the proposal. This time, Oaks Grove School was the adversary. After a contentious argument between the two schools, Apollo School prevailed by only one point, scoring 257 to Oaks Grove School’s 256. This is how Apollo School won the competition.

Are Moral Values Limited Within the Books? was the subject of the second round of the Hindi Debate, and Apollo School opposed the motion. But this time, Oaks Grove School won the argument with a score of 290, defeating the Apollo team’s 277, and the Apollo team was unable to advance to the Inter School Debate’s final round.

St. Georges School and Apollo International School squared off in the final round of the English Debate on the issue of “Ban abortion of foetuses on the basis of their impairment.” This time, Apollo School supported the proposal in the discussion. St. Georges School was crowned the victor of the English Debate following the battle of words. Apollo School stood second in the contest and Oaks Grove School was declared the winner in the Hindi Debate. Apollo International School bagged second position in the English Debate and third in the Hindi Debate competition.

The participants of the Inter-School English Debate competition from Apollo School were Ayush Lohar, Raj Verma, and Shiva Krishna.The participants of the Inter-School Hindi Debate Competition were Pratik Kashyap, Aditya Gautam, and Ayush Sharma. The overall in charge of the contests was Mr.Sumit Panwar.
