AGE LIMIT
(A) General Duty (GD) : Minimum 22 – 25 Years as on 01 July 2025 i.e. born between 01 /07/2000 to 30/06/2004 (both dates inclusive).
Note : 5 years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force)
(B) Technical (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics) : Min. 21- 25 Years as on 01 July 2025 i.e. born between 01 /07/2000 to 30/06/2004 (both dates inclusive).
Note : 5 years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
Explanation on certain eligibility criteria:
(a) Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates are applicable only if the posts are reserved for them.
(b) Candidates having Integrated Post-Graduation degree are also eligible to apply provided that they are in possession of certificate issued by the respective Institution/ University, certifying that the candidate has passed the qualifying Degree (with percentage/marks clearly mentioned) as a part of the Integrated Post Graduation Course and the candidate is eligible for award of a Graduation Degree. Such candidates have to upload the certificate carrying Name, Father’s name, Date of Birth, Registration Number/ Roll No. during the registration.
(c) Indian Coast Guard has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination and decide on number of candidates to be shortlisted for Stage-I, Stage-II, Stage-III.
(h) The date of birth and gender will not be allowed to be changed at any subsequent stage even after induction under any circumstances whatsoever and candidature/ appointment of any candidate will be cancelled at any stage whenever any wrong information is detected.
APPLICATION FEE
Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa / Master / Maestro / Rupee Credit / Debit Card / UPI.
NOTE : E-Admit Card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and who are entitled to waiver of the examination fee.
Note :
(i) Exemption of Examination Fees. Candidates from SC/ST category are entitled for waiver of examination fee. Candidates are liable to be discharged/ rejected at any stage of recruitment/ training if it is found that false SC/ST certificate has been produced to claim waiver of examination fee/other concessions as applicable.
(ii) Unsuccessful Payment. In case a candidate has made an online payment of fee and money has been deducted from his account, but not credited to the beneficiary account, it shall be deemed as unsuccessful payment. Application will be processed only after successful payment of examination fee (except for exempted candidates). ICG is not responsible for any unsuccessful payment, candidates are advised to check with their respective banks for refund of unsuccessful payment.
(iii) Refund of Multiple Payments. If multiple payments are received from a candidate against single application, the excess amount paid will be refunded back to
the originating account after closing of registration and re-conciliation of all payment records. However, if a candidate is found to fill multiple applications the amount with
respect to applications not considered for recruitment process will not be refunded.
(iv) Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
EXAMINATION CITY
All candidates are to give five preferences for examination city in the application for Stage-I process. Candidates are to fill first choice within 30 kms from the present/ communication residence. If no ‘examination city’ is located within 30 kms from the current address then the nearest “examination city” from current address has to be the first
choice of the candidate.
Note :
(i) If candidates are not complying with the First Choice of Centre as above then their candidature can be cancelled, if found contrary during Document Verification.
(ii) Indian Coast Guard reserves the right to allot examination city, which may or may not be as per the choice of the candidates.

Note : (i) ICG will announce the date when E-admit cards are available for download for Stage -I, II & III. Candidates are directed to daily visit ICG recruitment website and login into respective login IDs to download the E-admit card for various stages. No email or SMS will be sent to candidates regarding “when the E-admit card will be available for download”.
(ii) Examination city will be displayed in candidate’s login at least 10 days prior to Stage -I. The E-admit card with exact Examination Centre address will be available in Candidates login and email will be sent on registered Email ID only 02-03 days prior to examination.
(iii) Failure to download the E-admit card and non-reporting for various recruitment stages will lead to cancellation of candidature. ICG will not be responsible if the candidate fails to regularly check the important recruitment communication on website regarding downloading of E-admit card and other instructions for Stage-I, II, III, IV and Stage – V. Candidates are to keep the same Mobile No. and email id’s active till completion of the recruitment cycle to obtain regular inputs..
Documents required to be carried during various stages of selection
(a) Stage-I (CGCAT) :
(i) Printout of E-admit card (Stage-I). The E-Admit card printout should preferably be in colour. However, Black and White printout of E-admit card will also be accepted providing the candidate’s photograph, QR code and other details are clearly visible/legible.
(ii) Two coloured passport size photographs (same as uploaded in the application form).
(iii) Original Photo ID card same as mentioned in application.
(iv) SC/ST candidates to bring original caste certificate and 03 photocopy of self attested SC/ST certificate, original train/bus ticket, cancelled cheque leaf for NEFT payment and travel form downloaded from website for claiming TA.
(b) Stage-II (PSB) and Stage-III (FSB) :
(i) Two copies of computer generated online application and E-admit card form alongwith recent colour passport size photo (should not be older than three months prior to the date of opening of application).
(ii) Original Class Xth pass certificate and mark sheet.
(iii) Original Class XIIth pass certificate and mark sheet/ Diploma year wise/ semester/ trimester wise marksheet & certificate.
(iv) Original Degree/ Post Graduation or Provisional Degree/ Post Graduation Certificate with all semesters/ trimesters/ years mark sheets of BE/B.Tech/Graduation with CPA/CGPA conversion for percentage of marks from university.
(v) Proof of identity (as mentioned in application) such as passport, driving license, Aadhaar Card, Voter I card, or any other photo identity proof issued by any government organisations.
(vi) Character certificate. (Should not be older than six months on the date called for PSB)
(vii) Twelve recent colour passport size photographs with blue background.
(viii) Domicile Certificate (if applicable)- Resident Certificate is not ‘Domicile Certificate’. Candidates uploading ‘Resident Certificate’ in place of ‘Domicile Certificate’ will be ineligible. To be uploaded only by candidates availing height relaxation in accordance with Central Govt. regulations.
(ix) NCC ‘A’/’B’/’C’ Certificate (if applicable) (for Stage-III only).
(x) Category certificate (if applicable) in original for EWS, OBC candidates (Non creamy layer only) as per Govt. of India format (format available in
https://joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in) and in original for SC & ST candidates as per Govt. of India/ State Govt
(xi) Service certificate/NOC, if candidate is serving ICG Personnel including civilian/Armed Forces Personnel/Govt. Employee.

(c) Important instructions for documents to be carried :
(i) Failure to submit above documents during Stage-II/III will lead to cancellation of candidature.
(ii) All photocopies are to be self-attested by signature. The photocopies should also have the details of name and the roll number of the candidate.
(iii) All the original documents will be returned to the candidates after verification during stage II/III. Candidates are advised to collect all the original documents from ICG staff post verification.
(d) Stage-IV (Medical Examination) :
(i) Printout of E-admit card of Stage-III.
(ii) Original Photo ID card as mentioned in application.
Note : Failure to submit above documents during Stage-IV will lead to cancellation of candidature.
(e) Stage-V (Induction) : The selected candidates are required to report at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala with following documents (original and three photocopies) :
(a) Appointment Letter sent by Coast Guard Headquarters
(b) Following educational/identity certificates:-
(i) Class X passing certificate (matriculation certificate)
(ii) Class XII passing certificate.
(iii) Class XII mark sheet.
(iv) Degree certificate.
(v) Degree final year mark sheet (including mark sheets for all previous years/ semesters).
(vi) Aadhar Card (If applied for but not received then relevant documents).
(vii) Voter ID and PAN Card (If applied for but not received then relevant documents).
(viii) SC/ST/OBC certificate, if applicable.
(c) Own Risk Certificate to be signed by the candidates.
(d) Declaration to be signed by the candidates.
(e) Certificate by the candidates regarding Marital Status.
(f) Bond to be signed by the parents/guardian and the candidates.
(g) Additional Bond regarding submission of educational certificate.
(h) Agreement to be signed by the candidates.
(j) Form of Certificate to be signed by Parent/Guardian.
(k) Prevention of Ragging Certificate.
(l) Detailed Verification/ Attestation Form alongwith:-
(i) List of friends in Social Media Account.
(ii) List of friend requests in Social Media Account.
(m) Identity Certificate
(n) Willingness Certificate to join Indian Coast Guard.
(p) Discharge certificate of Govt. Employee/Armed Forces personnel.
